Trinity (H.D.F)
Back in 2014 I injured my left knee during a pick-up basketball game. Playing aggressive was always my approach and it did leave me banged up because of it. When coming down for a rebound I landed on a player’s foot and twisted my knee. Never went to the doctors since I was in university in another state. Thankfully Google, YouTube and nursing/physical therapist students were around to give their insight and “diagnosis”. It seemed like a meniscus tear which left me unable to fully bend my knee, even till this day. Years and years of learning different rehab methods and supplements, stretching, diet change, daily routines, etc. was what I needed to do. Prayer helped as well, from students to family members.
This dilemma through the years put a strain on my dance growth as often my knee would pop out in painful fashion during competitions and training. I became desperate to heal fully or close to fully. When discovering certain training methods like sprinting, AGT workouts, stretching, calisthenics, and jump program drills, my knee started to become strong again. Now, after picking up a basketball after seven years I fell back in love with training with the ball. Running, sprinting, jumping, and quick footwork feels good again. Now the trinity is complete. Hooping, Dance and Film.
